Day 8 - Dinner and a show

Look Mom, Hands!!!!
Nanchang fountain light show. A bit disruptive to the schedule but the night was well worth the hassles. We love the food. Had a great dinner with a variety of different foods that were native to the area. Anyone that says you lose weight on this trip is missing out. Off to Guangzhou tomorrow for the final paper work and probably some additional shopping.
We love waking up to your comments and are very happy that you are enjoying ours. Please keep the comments coming. It's a special treat for us.
By the way....Emmaxia is doing just fantastic. She sleeps 14 total hours a day and eats the rest of the time. It doesn't seem like she is doing much but it certainly is keeping us busy.
More later.
Todd, Tara and Emmaxia

  2. In that picture of the light show and Emmaxia looking at Todd is priceless. From the comments it sounds like she is adjusting very well and you can see she already loves her mommy and daddy. I look forward to the blog every morning and every night. I can't get enough of staring at her. We love you

  4. Sending you a note on behalf of Mom and Ashlie today. Mom sends her love and news that Gruzie is doing great. She is loving checking the blog each day and staring at her new little grandbaby. She is so anxious to see her in person and is so happy that all is going well with you all and that Emmaxia is doing so well. Ashlie wants to send her love to you. She has been following your trip on the blog also and is brought to tears by your incredible experience and Emmaxia's beauty. She thanks you as well for sharing your journey with us all and can't wait to congratulate you in person.
Having said all that, all I can add is that I love you all and I hope I was able to convey their messages well enough. Hope to hear from you soon! Love, Mom, Ashlie, and RJ

Greetings, Guests!

We will use this blog to share news as we move one step closer to Baby Rock each day.

For those who need a bit of background...
We decided to adopt a baby from China in September/October of 2005. After completing mountains of paperwork, background checks, fingerprinting, etc. (collectively called the dossier), we were officially on China's waiting list on April 14th, 2006. This moment of acceptance is called the log-in date (LID). This date is quite significant because families are matched with children according to LID. If you follow referral dates (the date a waiting child is matched with a waiting family), you will be able to see how close we are to being matched--at least in theory. When we started the process three and a half years ago, China was matching month for month, meaning one month of LIDs were taking one month to match. Now, unfortunately, one month of LIDs is taking about four months or more. So...we wait...we vent...we cry...we breathe...we hope...we believe.

*To our family and friends-
A huge hug and thank you for sharing our frustration and our joy as we practice patience and faith, knowing Baby Rock is just over the horizon.
